Permalinks

What is a Permalink?

A permalink is a persistent URL or web address that will always link to the same web page. Even if the content on the page changes, the link will lead to the same address.

Why should I use a Permalink and the EzProxy Creator?

Using a permalink insures students will have immediate access to the resource. Most of the library's databases create their own permalinks for their resources and many of the permalinks include the EzProxy prefix, which guarantees Clark users access if off campus. However, if the link does not include the EzProxy prefix, we recommend using the EzProxy Creator to add it to the permalink.

When do I need to use the EzProxy Creator?

Most of the library's databases permalinks include the prefix, which looks like this:  http://goddard40.clarku.edu/login?url= If you don't see the prefix at the beginning of the permalink, then the EzProxy Creator is required.

Use the instructions below to learn where to find the permalink for an article and determine if it requires the EzProxy Creator.
